SUBSTANCE: invention relates to instrumentation, namely to devices for electrical testing of armoured cable insulation, and can be used in production and repair of armoured cable lines. Armoured cable insulation testing device comprises a personal computer connected to a controlled high-voltage source of direct voltage and to a controller with relay contacts; high-voltage switchboard in the housing of which are located AC magnetic starters immersed in dielectric fluid. First outputs of the contacts of the magnetic starters are connected to the first output of the controlled high-voltage source of direct voltage. Second outputs of the contacts of the magnetic starters are separately connected through the corresponding connectors to the cores of the tested cable, the armour of which is grounded. Second output of the controlled high-voltage direct voltage source is grounded. First outputs of the controller with relay contacts are combined, and the second outputs of relay contacts of each relay are connected separately to the first outputs of coils of magnetic starters. Second outputs of the coils of the magnetic starters are combined and connected to the first output of the alternating voltage network. First output of first resistor is connected to second output of AC voltage network, and the second output of the first resistor is connected to the anode of the diode, the cathode of which is connected to the connection unit of the first outputs of the relay contacts of the controller, the first output of the second resistor and the first output of the capacitor are connected to the connection unit of the first outputs of the relay contacts of the controller, the second output of the second resistor and the second output of the capacitor are connected to the first output of the alternating voltage network. In the high-voltage switchboard, a diode is connected in parallel to each coil of the magnetic starter, the cathode of which is connected to the first output of the coil of the magnetic starter, and the anode is connected to the second output of the coil of the magnetic starter.
