FIELD: performing operations.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to processing of wood with glowing wire, in particular, to thermal cutting and processing of material. Device contains cable and processing string, which is made of conducting material with possibility of heating when electric current passes through it, and ends of which are connected to ends of cable with formation of closed loop stretched between rollers, axes of which are fixed. Ends of the string and the ends of the cable are connected by means of two spring holders from a conductive material, which are connected to electrical leads which can be connected to an external source of electric current. At that, to one of rollers there is an electric motor rotor made with possibility of alternate rotation of roller in opposite directions around axis. One of the electric leads is connected to the spring holder by means of an input unit configured to control parameters of electric current. Method includes fixing metal stencils with the help of fasteners on the workpiece, positioning the workpiece so that the string passes through the machined hole, fixing the string on spring holders, arrangement of string and cable in grooves of rollers to ensure their tension, connection of device outputs to external source of electric current, adjustment of parameters of electric current by means of input unit, switching on of electric motor, performance of cutting and processing of cut of holes by translational movements of string and action of heat of string.

EFFECT: higher accuracy of thermal treatment of materials and reduced possibility of ignition of device and/or workpiece.
