FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: cutting is carried out in the device consisting of base, thermoplastic material motion unit and cutting tool. Cutting tool is a spring loaded frame with, at least, one cutting wire heated by electric current. Wires are installed in plane, located at angle to the direction of motion of the material being cut. Motion unit is made in the form of two driven feeding rollers which are used to place the thermoplastic material and pressing mechanism. Pressing mechanism is installed at the upper part of the frame and is made in the form of at least one rotatable roller. During cutting, rate of motion of the thermoplastic material is set taking into account its melting speed. Besides, deformation of cutting wire is prevented during cutting.
EFFECT: enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of cutting production for complex shape articles.
