FIELD: computer security systems.
SUBSTANCE: security device detects an accessibility notification transmitted as part of a protocol for establishing a wireless connection between two devices. Security device can then determine whether the detected notification matches the basic notification pattern of the apparent sender. If not, the security device can attack the sending device by responding to the corresponding availability notification and initiating an acknowledgment.
EFFECT: improved security of wireless electronic devices of the Internet of things (IoT) against imitation attacks.
