FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to drive mechanisms, in particular to electromagnetic brakes for electric motors or rotating links of kinematic chains. Electromagnetic disc brake is intended for stopping or braking of electric motor shaft or links of kinematic chains of various devices of instrument making, machine building and general machine building. Electromagnetic disc brake consists of electromagnet, armature, having possibility of translational movement along guides, brake disc with friction linings or without them, pressure springs installed through supports. Pressure springs compression force is adjusted by adjusting screws. Flange and armature are provided with holes arranged regularly along the circumference, in which return springs and intermediate rolling bodies are installed, which provide alignment of the brake disc when it is released.
EFFECT: reduced dynamic load, reduced wear of friction surfaces and increased reliability of operation of electromagnetic disc brake by provision of constant gap between friction surfaces.
