FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a polymer composition for the preparation and manufacture of various products, such as single-layer and multi-layer films. Composition comprises 5.0 to 95.0 wt% of a heterogeneously branched ethylene polymer znLLDPE, having polymer units derived from at least one C3-C20 alpha-olefin, and from 95.0 to 5.0 wt% of an ethylene-based polymer - LLDPE. Heterogeneously branched ethylene polymer znLLDPE has a CDBI value of less than 50.0%, and the ethylene-based polymer - LLDPE in the comonomer distribution analysis has at least a first peak and a second peak, where the first peak has a maximum at a log (Mw) of 4.0 to 5.4, and an elution temperature during TREF of 70.0° C to 100.0° C, and the second peak has a maximum at a log (Mw) of 5.0 to 6.0, and an elution temperature during TREF of 40.0 to 60.0°C.
EFFECT: compositions and films of the invention exhibit an unexpected synergistic effect for the burst strength characteristics during their Elmendorf test.
