FIELD: medical equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medical equipment, namely to a surgical needle for tissue suturing. Surgical needle comprises a point, a body, a platform for gripping with a needle holder and a place of suture attachment to the needle, and a cutting edge. Place of attachment of the suture to the needle is made in the form of a wedge-shaped slot made with possibility of fixing the suture by increasing compression of its walls and located on the lateral side of the needle body. Wedge-shaped slot is made on the cutting face, its wide open part is turned towards the point, and the narrowed part is turned towards the platform for gripping by the needle holder. Edges of the wide part of the slot are made flush with the outer surface of the needle, and the inner surfaces of the walls of the slot are smooth.
EFFECT: use of the invention allows providing atraumatic fixation of the suture and eliminating the violation of the integrity of the suture by needle elements.
