FIELD: powder metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to powder metallurgy and can be used in producing zirconium powders for use in electronic products, pyrotechnic compositions, particularly explosive and inflammable mixtures. Method involves hydrogenation of zirconium metal to obtain zirconium hydride, which is mixed with zirconium dioxide and sodium chloride in ratio ZrHx:ZrO2:NaCl = 1:0.26-0.28:0.8-1.25 in an inert atmosphere. Obtained mixture is ground to obtain a mixture which is dehydrated at temperature of 750-790 °C and pressure of at least 6 Pa. Dehydrated charge is leached to obtain a pulp which is subjected to filtration. Produced cake is washed, dried to produce zirconium powder and packed.
EFFECT: possibility of controlling granulometric composition, activity of zirconium and physical properties of zirconium powders during production thereof, while ensuring fire safety of the process.
