SUBSTANCE: invention relates to aircraft passenger cabin equipment. Luggage compartment has a body that closes the space for storing hand luggage inside. Also, the luggage compartment has a door element connected to the luggage compartment body by means of a rotary mechanism. Upper corner sections of door element (9) are made with cutout or recess (17), so that upper section (9A) of door and lower section (9B) of door are formed. Door upper section (9) extends horizontally between recesses (17). Door lower section (9B) extends below recesses (17). Recesses (17) are designed and located so that upper section (9) of the door, when switched to the open position, is recessed behind the loading window into the inner part of the storage space.
EFFECT: simplified design.
