FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building, particularly, to traction motors. Traction motor includes shaft, rotor, stator, fan, filter with at least one grid, housing including terminal box with cover. To achieve the technical result, the filter also has double shutters and a mesh frame, the cover of the terminal box of which on all sides is made with flanging, which creates a protective labyrinth, the cavities of the housing are made without volumes for moisture accumulation, the outlet path is made in the form of a labyrinth, and the housing contains internal ribs.
EFFECT: increased reliability of electric machine due to improvement of its dust and moisture protection.
