FIELD: testing; ammunition.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of testing fragmentation ammunition with an axisymmetric field of fragmentation dispersion. Method involves blasting of ammunition installed in the specified position in the centre of the shaped target wall marked into zones corresponding to directions of fragments dispersion in the accepted system of coordinates. Method also involves recording hits, measuring the size and area of holes, as well as catching and counting the number of fragments to assess the qualitative and quantitative characteristics of the fragmentation field by weight, shape and size thereof. Target wall is made in the form of a semi-cylinder. Ammunition is mounted on a support, the height of which is equal to half the height of the target wall. Fragments are caught on a receiving sector platform located on the side opposite the target wall and shaped to a concave shape. Profile of sector platform is made taking into account initial speed of fragments, speed of fragments movement and limiting speed of fragments falling, ballistic coefficient of fragments, angles of fragments dispersion, excluding secondary crushing of striking elements when they hit the surface of the platform.
EFFECT: providing combined tests of ammunition for fragmentation action and fragmentation with simultaneous reduction of labour costs and improvement of accuracy of measurements of distribution of fragments by mass groups.
