FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to power plants, namely, to liquid-propellant rocket engines (LPE). Method of improving specific characteristics of oxygen-hydrogen liquid-propellant engine with coaxial coaxial-jet nozzles consists in reduction of its weight with simultaneous increase in specific thrust impulse due to increase in geometrical degree of expansion of its nozzle. At the design stage, the total length of the engine is determined and the length of the non-disintegrated part of the liquid of the oxidizer jet for coaxial coaxial-jet nozzles with a round outlet section is determined. Degree of perfection of mixture formation is determined. Length of the jet of the non-disintegrated part of the coaxial coaxial-jet nozzle is reduced by profiling its outlet section from round to three-beam. Determining the reduction of the length of the stream of the non-disintegrated part of the liquid while maintaining the degree of perfection of mixture formation with provision for echelon combustion of the fuel components, and by a length equal to the value of the length reduction of the stream of the non-disintegrated part of the liquid, length of combustion chamber and elements of pneumatic hydraulic circuit of the whole engine are reduced, with preservation of its length in specified long overall dimensions due to increase of nozzle length, area of its outlet section and geometrical degree of expansion.
EFFECT: disclosed is a method for improving specific characteristics of an oxygen-hydrogen liquid-propellant engine.
