FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to power plants, namely to liquid-propellant engines (LPE). Method of increasing the specific thrust pulse of an oxygen-hydrogen liquid-propellant engine with coaxial coaxial-jet nozzles, having constant long overall dimensions, consists in increasing the geometric degree of expansion of its nozzle. At the design stage, the total length of the engine and the length of its chamber are determined and the length of the non-disintegrated part of the liquid of the oxidizer jet for coaxial coaxial-jet nozzles with a round outlet section is determined. Degree of perfection of mixture formation provided by the given scheme of fuel components supply is determined. Length of the jet of the non-disintegrated part of the liquid of the above nozzles is reduced by profiling their outlet section from a round to a three-beam one. Determining the decrease in the length of the jet of the non-disintegrated part of the liquid of said nozzles while maintaining the degree of perfection of mixture formation and by the length of not more than the obtained value of reducing the length of the jet of the non-disintegrated part of the liquid, the length of the combustion chamber is reduced while maintaining the length of the entire chamber in the given long overall dimensions due to increased length of nozzle, area of its outlet section and geometrical degree of expansion.
EFFECT: disclosed is a method for increasing the specific thrust pulse of an oxygen-hydrogen liquid-propellant engine.
