FIELD: rocket and space engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to aerospace engineering and can be used for conducting fire bench research or development tests as separate special high-temperature heat-shielding materials, intended for thermal protection of structural elements, and for testing a sample of the wall of the structure – a package of such materials, consisting of several layers, incl. including protected layer of structural material. Disclosed is a method for testing thermal protection materials with simulation of altitude conditions, which includes the effect of a high-temperature jet flowing from the gas generator chamber through the nozzle into a gas-dynamic pipe and an exhaust path with an ejector, on samples located in cylindrical channel of round section, tightly connected to nozzle and gas-dynamic tube. Samples are mounted through heat-insulating spacers into the wall of the cylindrical section flush with the inner surface of the channel both in one section along the circumference and in sections parallel to each other along the axis of the cylindrical channel.
EFFECT: when testing samples of materials of their supersonic flow and values of influencing factors with high accuracy in ranges of static pressure of flowing stream from 0.5 kPa to 30 kPa, heat flow density from 100 kW to 4 MW and reduction of required number of tests due to possibility of simultaneous testing of several samples of materials or sets of materials.
