SUBSTANCE: in a method for implementing a low current consumption mode in a sleep mode for a cascode input/output cell comprising a power detector, a reference level generator, service input/output cells, a reference level repeater, at the moment of transition to the mode with low power consumption the initialising signal SLEEP is activated, simultaneously, the transistor P1 disconnects the service cells from the main power source, the transistor P2 connects the service cells to the additional power source, power detector fixes the mode of the additional power supply and switches the service cells to the mode of minimum current consumption, wherein the additional power supply has a voltage of at least 40%, and not exceeding 60% of the voltage of the main source, the state of the output levels of the generator and the level follower is fixed and remains unchanged, I/O cells continue to receive reference levels corresponding to the main power supply mode, and the cell continues to operate correctly in the mode of minimum current consumption and can receive an input initialising signal of low frequency, up to 1 MHz.

EFFECT: reduction of current consumption of cascode input-output cell in microcircuit.
