FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical industry and specifically to a device for catalytic oxidation of ammonia on gas-permeable wire gauze. Catalyst gauze is double-needle bar braiding of metal wire with combined alternating sections of rows connected by first and second braidings. Total number of sections in the mesh is not less than 2, and the ratio of the height of adjacent sections lies in range of 1:1 to 1:3000, wherein the wire is made from platinum-based alloys. Invention covers also versions of catalyst gauze.
EFFECT: higher mechanical strength of gauze and wire surface area, reduced losses of platinoids and high conversion of ammonia throughout the entire run.
