FIELD: catalyst grids.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to catalyst grids used in ammonia oxidation processes. Described is a catalyst mesh for the oxidation of ammonia, containing the first layer of knitted first wire material, and the specified first wire material is made of a platinum-rhodium alloy containing from 1 to 10 wt.% Rh, characterized in that the specified first layer contains an activator in the form of a second material wire, which is woven into the first wire material and which is made of unalloyed platinum, and the mass percentage of the activating second wire material in the catalyst grid is in the range from 1 to 45 wt.%.
EFFECT: inclusion of platinum wire in the platinum/rhodium meshes effectively improves the ignition of the platinum/rhodium knitted meshes and this effect is maintained even when only applied to the top layer in the knitted mesh package.
