FIELD: animal husbandry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to animal husbandry, in particular to fodder additives. Method for producing a fodder additive for increasing productivity of fattening piglets and chickens involves loading into a reactor with a stirring device and mixing methionine and 30% hydrogen peroxide with the addition of water, maintaining temperature in the reaction zone within 40-50 °C for 3 hours, mass draining and evaporation at residual pressure of 80-120 mm Hg. Further, the obtained compound of 2-amino-4-(methylsulphinyl)-butanoic acid is dried to a residual moisture content of not more than 1.0%. Imination is then carried out with addition of concentrated sulphuric acid, oleum and sodium azide, followed by cooling to room temperature, mixing with isopropyl alcohol and neutralization with calcium hydroxide to obtain 2-amino-4-(S-methylsulphonimidoyl)-butanoic acid. Cobalt (II) chloride is added to obtained 2-amino-4-(S-methylsulphonimidoyl)-butanoic acid in molar ratio of 1:1 and distilled water is added to form a thinly fluid suspension. Stirring is carried out at room temperature for 10 minutes and pH is adjusted to 8 with an inorganic base, which is sodium hydroxide. Precipitated violet precipitate is filtered through a paper filter with subsequent packing into bags.

EFFECT: proposed method for production of fodder additive provides for production of fodder product with growth-stimulating and immunostimulating properties, capable to preserve livestock, to reduce percentage of culling, to increase productivity.
