FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to thermomechanical processing of metals and can be used in assembly production, metallurgy and oil industry. When making couplings, surface of pipes is cleaned from various deposits, contaminants and centres of corrosion by hydrodynamic method under high pressure. Cutting into piece workpieces is carried out on the basis that the volume of metal of the workpiece should be equal to the volume of metal of the finished coupling. Billet is heated with the help of forging induction heater, volumetric forming with further cooling in water or oil, boring and thread cutting. Tubing pipes are used as pipes for production of workpieces.
EFFECT: higher resistance of couplings to destruction and, as a result, higher reliability of couplings.
