SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of threads from polyether ketone (PECK) from solutions. Described is a method of producing a complex yarn from polyether ketone with structure

where the ratio n:m is from 60:40 to 70:30, consisting of the stage of mixing polyether ketone and sulfuric acid with concentration of 84–89 wt.% at 20–50 °C with obtaining single-phase 12–15 wt.% of polymer solutions, stages of dry-wet formation of threads by forcing polymer solutions through a spinneret into an aqueous or aqueous-sulfuric precipitation bath with temperature of 7–21 °C with formation of continuous fibres, their washing, drying, twisting and thermal drawing.
EFFECT: development of technological, reproducible, industrial-scale method of producing fibres based on PECC through sulfuric acid solutions, which makes it possible to obtain lustrous complex threads, including microfilament threads, with defect-free elementary threads with a smooth surface without internal voids, due to which they have higher thermal stretching ratio and values of specific breaking load of 22–27 cN/tex.
