FIELD: medical science.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely paediatric surgery. McBurney approach is performed. Vermiform appendix and its mesentery are clamped in a junction on the head of blind colon. Clamp is removed, and the created furrow is ligatured. Clamp is applied at 5 mm in the distal direction from the ligature. Seromuscular purse-string suture is applied starting from mesentery and under it. Mesentery strand is anchored in the middle of the purse-string suture at the level of the beginning of the purse-string suture. Vermiform appendix is removed, and the purse-string suture is tightened.
EFFECT: method enables repairing the integrity of the peritoneum of the caecum cupula, peritonising the vermiform appendix stump with a purse self-immersing suture and preventing bleeding in the space between the stumps of the vermiform appendix and its mesentery.
