FIELD: foundry production.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for continuous casting pigs on casting conveyor. Stacked metal trapezoidal-cross-section pig comprises two parallel bases, the lower one is smaller and the upper one is larger, that makes a sprue surface, and lateral lengthwise inclined surfaces and inclined ends. At the ends in the upper part of the pig there are shoulders, the lower surfaces of which are arranged at angle of 3-7° to horizon with increase in thickness of collars to pig end face. In case pigs are made without collars, parts of smaller base, adjacent to ends, are made with inclination of 3-7° to horizon. Angular arrangement of collar bottom surfaces allows lifting pig smaller base relative to mould due to vertical shrinkage. Slopes on smaller base of pig due to shrinkage in longitudinal direction provide vertical lifting of pig and separation from mould.
EFFECT: uninterrupted operation of conveyor, reduced quantity of process wastes and defects due to reduced probability of pig blocking in mould and free removal of pig from mould without deterioration of its quality.
