FIELD: medical science.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, particularly to radiotherapy in oncology for ensuring the quality of radiation therapy, namely for checking and calibrating sensors of an active breath control (ABC) system, as well as cross-calibration of several sensors with each other. Device intended for testing and verifying the basic functions of medical devices and systems, including artificial pulmonary ventilation apparatus, spirometric syringe with capacity of 3 l and the active breath control (ABC) system, are connected to each other by tubes from the calibration instrument kit and the ABC system sensors readings are controlled, in a randomly selected range from 0.5 to 3 l, the required number of sensors of the ABC system is checked and calibrated, and a correction factor is calculated for each sensor and the selected inhalation/exhalation volume of the patient by formula: V2=k*V1, where k is correction factor for each sensor, V2 is calculated air volume of ABC system with sensor 2, V1 is preset air volume of ABC system with sensor 1.
EFFECT: possibility of calibrating the required number of sensors of the ABC system in a randomly selected range from 0.5 to 3 l, higher accuracy of calibration and unified operation of the ABC systems in a radiotherapeutic centre, which helps to ensure quality of radiation treatment.
