SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agriculture and can be used for forming cherry trees in intensive commercial gardens. According to the invention, the crown base consists of a conductor and short branches located along its length at the age of one to three years. At the same time in the year of planting crown seedlings in spring, a bole with height of 70 cm is formed, all lateral annual branches are cut into two well-formed buds. By autumn, two productive links are formed on each cut branch. In the spring of the second year, one of the annual branches in each productive link is cut into two well-formed buds, and fruiting begins on the second annual branch. Two shoots grow on cut branches by autumn. In the spring of the third year in each productive link there is one fruiting two-year branch and two annual branches, one of which is cut into two well-formed buds, and fruiting begins on the second branch. In the spring of the fourth year in each productive link there is one three-year branch, one two-year branch and two annual branches, one of which is cut into two buds. In the spring of the fifth year, a four-year branch is cut in each productive link, and one of the annuals is cut into two buds. Productive links are formed along the entire height of the conductor; the height of the tree is limited at height of 2.5 m.

EFFECT: method enables to obtain a commodity crop of cherry fruits in the garden for the second-third year, achieving higher yield, possibility of mechanized harvesting of cherry fruits.
