FIELD: printing industry. SUBSTANCE: method involves applying ink to surface of plate cylinder; transferring ink from surface of plate cylinder to material to be printed, which has complex relief. Ink is transferred from plate cylinder to material by laser beam directed from the side adjacent to ink and plate cylinder contact zone. Printing apparatus has plate cylinder, printing member, inker and embossing mechanism with laser beam source and optical system, which are positioned at rear side of plate cylinder. Plate cylinder is made from transparent material. Optical system has planar mirror, dissipating lens and light guide. Optical system is provided with scanner having drum with mirror extending on its surface in helical line and drum drive. EFFECT: wider operational capabilities, increased efficiency and enhanced reliability in operation.
