FIELD: chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: solvent containing potassium or sodium hydroxide and water has additionally water-soluble polyalkylene polyamine at the following ratio of components, wt.-%: potassium or sodium hydroxide, 20-45; water-soluble polyalkylene polyamine, 0.3-1.5; and water, the balance. Solvent can contain N-dimethylpropylenediamine or N,N'-tetramethyldipropylenetriamine or polyethylene polyamine or their mixtures as water-soluble polyalkylene polyamine. EFFECT: intensified process of sulfur dissolving.
