FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: analyzed material sample is treated by thinned nitrogen acid while heating till aciform of a-hydroxynaphthoic acid is obtained by disintegrating samples. Then sample is treated by ammonium acetone doped with light-base ammonium hydroxide. This eliminates influence of various factors on accuracy of determination of lead, lead oxide and sulfate, and provides for producing colored compound which is photometrically evaluated. a-hyroxynaphthoic acid content is calculated by means of calibration chart. EFFECT: improved accuracy and speed of process. 3 tbl
