FIELD: magnetohydrodynamics. SUBSTANCE: the adder has cells 4-7, transformers 8-10, adder thyristors control system 11. Each cell uses two diode bridges 12 and 13 consisting of diodes 14 - 17. Chokes 18, 19 and thyristors 20 and 21 that are series-connected to them are placed in the DC opposite junctions of the bridges. The points of connection of thyristors 20 and 21 to chokes 18 and 19 are connected through capacitors 22, and the cathodes of thyristors 20 and 21 are connected through capacitors 23. Electrodes 24-31 of channel 1 of the MHDG are connected to summing point 32 that is directly coupled with load 2 via cells 4-7 and windings 33 - 44 of transformers 8-10. EFFECT: enhanced reliability of operation due to prevention of reverse voltage across the thyristors, whose value exceeds the breakdown voltage. 1 dwg
