FIELD: light-sensitive materials. SUBSTANCE: heterocyclic compounds, in particular, thiapyrilium salts with general formula , where at n= o, R1 is phenyl, 2-naphtyl, or methyl; R2 4-fluoro-, 4-chloro-, 4-methoxy-, 4-dimethylamino-, or 4- ethoxyphenyl; and R3 phenyl, 2-naphtyl, or ethoxyphenyl; at n= 1, R1 and R2 are 4-ethoxyphenyl and R3 is 4-methoxyphenyl, can be used as sensitizers for panchromatically active electrophotographic materials based on poly-N-epoxypropylcarbazole to enhance panchromatic activity of electrophotographic material in the region 400-700 nm and/or increase general light sensitivity. Thiapyrilium salts are prepared by dissolving suitable pyrilium tetrafluoroborate derivatives in acetone followed by adding sodium sulfide and tetrafluoroboric acid.
