FIELD: production of photographic materials. SUBSTANCE: method is carried out by controlled double-stream crystallization and by simultaneously feeding of aqueous solutions of lead nitrate and NaF into aqueous solution of NaF. Crystallization is carried out at constant values of pF and pH, said values being 1.3-1.6 and pH 4.9 ± 0.1 respectively. Thus prepared suspension is concentrated and envelope of bromine and silver is plated on microcrystals of PbF2. The latter process is carried out by treatment of concentrated suspension in aqueous solution of KBr or NH4Br having pBr 0.3-1.3. Isolated solid phase is dried and treated in aqueous solution of AgNO3 having pAg 0.5-1.3. Then washing and dispersing into aqueous-gelatin solution containing KBr or NH4Br and having pBr 2.5-3.5 take places. The process is followed by chemical sensitizing which is carried out within 100 min by sustaining thus prepared emulsion with the help of sodium thiosulfate.
