FIELD: chemical technology, organic chemistry. SUBSTANCE: product: surface-active substance sodium alkylbenzenesulfonate. Synthesis is carried out by sulfonation of C10-16-alkylbenzene with liquid mixture of SO3 and SO2 in the presence of hydrocarbon fraction boiling out at 180-350 C at mass ratio of alkylbenzenes and hydrocarbons = 1:(0.01-3). The sulfomass is neutralized with basic agent treated with chlorine (mass ratio = 1:(0.04-0.5)) at 20-70 C. Under these conditions the end product is practically colorless, its emulsifying capability (cerium number is decreased to 0.01). EFFECT: enhanced quality of product. 1 tbl
