FIELD: oil producing industry. SUBSTANCE: compound for oil displacement contains the following components, mas.%: oil sulfonate 2.0-5.0; polyacrylamide 0.01-1.0; electrolyte 0.03-1.2; 4,4-dimethyl-1,3-dioxan 1.0-4.0; the balance, water. Compound is prepared by dissolving of components in water. Compound possesses phase stability in porous medium. Phase stability is characterized by increased upper layer: the larger layer the higher stability. The larger the upper layer, the better compatibility of oil sulfonate and polymer with solvent. EFFECT: higher oil displacing properties and phase stability to electrolyte. 1 tbl
