FIELD: polymer chemistry and engineering. SUBSTANCE: N-vinylpyrrolidone-unsaturated acid mixture is treated in a water-base solution by a quaternary ammonium base, selected from a group comprising AB-cathamine, alkyl trimethylammonium chloride, cetyl pyridinium chloride and dimethylbenzyl lauryl ammonium bromide. The acid-base ratio is 1:3.5-1:4.0. Total concentration of copolymer solution equals 10-30% by weight. The product is exposed to γ-radiation at a dose ranging from 3.0 to 20.0 kGR.
