FIELD: electric-arc plasmatrons using waver vapor; plasma chemistry, metallurgy, rock crushing. SUBSTANCE: dry superheated steam is generated from cooling water flowing in channels 10 of nozzle-anode 9 and anode insert 8; then it is applied to entrance into swirl chamber 7. Plasmatron is warmed up by air supplied to swirl chamber 6. When operating with steam at rated conditions (tsteam= 250-350 C), entire heat flow plasma into walls of anode insert 8 and nozzle-anode 9 returns to plasma with produced vapor, and thermal efficiency of plasmatron approaches 100% Capillary structure in channels 10 of nozzle-anode 9 made in the form of copper ejector placed in channel in a spaced relation provides for efficient evaporation of water and pulse-free supply of dry superheated vapor to plasmatron channel. EFFECT: improved thermal efficiency of plasmatron, easy maintenance in operation, reduced pulsation of plasma-forming gas parameters. 1 dwg
