FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: rubbed barrier of circuit breaker is made of dielectric material so that its ribs form spiral channel. Plasma current generated in electricity conducting channel is transferred to spiral channel which increases flux density of circuit breaker thereby limiting current through circuit before arc suppression. Ribbed barrier is made in the form of sphere with initiator in center of explosive charge, with ribs forming rectangular or triangular-section spiral. During initiation of detonation, spherical detonation wave is built up in center beyond which products of detonation move radially like electric arc plasma with the result that all processes occur on spherical surface simultaneously. EFFECT: improved speed of response and reliability of circuit breaker, reduced mass of explosive charge. 4 cl, 4 dwg
