FIELD: chemical engineering, in particular, reactors employed for liquid-phase hydrogenation of o-nitrophenol to produce o-aminophenol using Ni-Re-catalyst. SUBSTANCE: liquid-phase hydrogenation reactor includes externally positioned closed loop incorporating stock inlet pipes, descending and ascending pipes, separator having tapered bottom and tangential reaction mass inlet and sedimentation tank having pipe in its upper portion to discharge finished product and inlet pipe in its lower portion. Axis of sedimentation tank inlet pipe is located at angle of 45 to 60 deg relative to separator tapered bottom and its cross-section is disposed at distance of 3 to 5 mm from separator tapered bottom.
