FIELD: chemical technology, high-molecular compounds. SUBSTANCE: method involves interaction of equimolar amounts of tricyclodecenetetracarboxylic acid dianhydride with dicarboxylic acid dihydrazide at 60-80 C in solvent mixture containing, wt.-%: dimethylacetamide or N-methylpyrrolidone 60-80; water 10-20, and acetic acid 10-20. Polyamidoimides show the following properties: intrinsic viscosity is 1.10-1.45 dl/g, rupture strength is 160-170 MPa, rupture elongation is 10-17%. Synthesized polymers can be used as thermostable film materials, fibers and binding agents for glass plastics. EFFECT: simplified method, enhanced quality, improved properties of product. 5 tbl
