FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: within this method a powder-like exothermic mixture is prepared. It contains at least one component from the group: metal III-YIII of the group of the Periodic system of elements, boron, silicon, carbon and also at least one inorganic compound from the group: boride, silicide, nitride of transient metals of IY-B - YI-B groups; carbide, nitride, oxide of silicon, nitride, oxide of aluminium, boron nitride, oxide of element of II - IY group. The blank of an article is moulded of the mixture, then it is subjected to thermal treatment in the combustion regime in the medium of the nitrogen-containing gas at the temperature regulation from 2000 to 3000 C and at the pressure from 0.1 to 1000 MPascals. The porosity of the obtained articles is 1-10%, the strength makes up 25 - 40 kg/sq.mm.
