FIELD: storage of produce. SUBSTANCE: container has outer and inner housings forming jacket space providing organized gravity ventilation of produce (upward currents in layer of produce and downward currents in jacket space provided by cooling of outer walls with outside ventilating air). Container has bank of boxes tightly fitted one onto the other to form stack with clearance relative to all outer walls. Bottoms of boxes are perforated. Side walls are solid and form inner walls of container housing when boxes are placed one onto the other. EFFECT: enhanced conditions of storage of fruit and vegetables. 1 dwg
