FIELD: manufacture of building materials. SUBSTANCE: building beam is made of pressed timber particles and has the form of a rectangular parallelepiped with vertical butt side faces and horizontal side faces, one of which has a longitudinal projection and other has a corresponding longitudinal groove. An additional cross through slot is made on the side face with longitudinal groove of one of the beam ends. Depth and width of the slot are equalled to height and width of the longitudinal groove. The beam may be provided with longitudinal reinforcing members, symmetrically placed in relation to the longitudinal projection and slot and flushed with faces, corresponding to the projection and slot. EFFECT: unification of the beam manufacture provides expansion of the sphere of the beam usage. 2 cl, 3 dwg
