FIELD: chemical and photographic industry. SUBSTANCE: method involves the use of color-forming component for dispersion preparing - 2-chloro -5-[N -(3,5 -dimethoxycarbonylphenyl) aminosulfonyl] anilide of (3,5- dimethoxycarbonylphenoxy) -α-octadecylhydroxybenzoylacetic acid dissolved simultaneously with 2,5-di-tert.-octylhydroquinone at concentration 10-20 mol. of component quantity. Indicated dispersion is added as (8,5-33,0)·10-2 М component/M AgHal to the bromine-iodine-silver emulsion with AgHal microcrystal size 0.3-1.3 mcm, AgJ content is 0.5-5.1 mol. pBr is 2.7-3.1 and pH is 5.75-6.70. Photosensitivity is increased by 1.5 times, contrast coefficient and Dmax by 25-30% EFFECT: enhanced quality of material. 1 tbl
