FIELD: light- sensitive materials. SUBSTANCE: developer is composed of solution 1, g/l: paraformaldehyde 8-16, anhydrous sodium carbonate 260, sodium hydroxide 47 or anhydrous potassium carbonate, 300-340, potassium hydroxide 45-60, potassium bromide 2-26, Trilon B 8-22, and water to 1 l; and solution 2, g/l: anhydrous sodium sulfite 50-60, boric acid 45-65, hydroquinone 80-120, ethylene glycol 250-380, formaldehyde- sodium bisulfite monohydrate 180-220, and water to 1 l. In order to increase coefficient of image contrast and to reduce minimum optical density of fog, duplicate solution 2 may additionally contain 0.1-0.4 g/l benzotriazol and 0.05-1.0 g/l polyox-100 or polyethylene glycol. EFFECT: increased stability and frost resistance of solutions on storage. 4 tbl
