FIELD: oil producing industry. SUBSTANCE: method for development of oil pools in carbonate reservoirs includes withdrawal of oil from producing wells up to pressure drop in pool not below the pressure of oil saturation with gas and pressure of miscibility of oil with carbon dioxide gas. Oil withdrawal is discontinued and injection of oxygen- containing gas into pool is started to set up temporary fire seats and produce carbon dioxide gas in formation. Injection is continued up to rise of pressure in zone of burning corresponding to pressure of injection of oxygen- containing gas. This operation is repeated in different wells to attain uniform pressure in the entire pool which is not higher than pressure of injection of oxygen- containing gas. Then, oil withdrawal is renewed. EFFECT: increased oil recovery and reduced expenditures for oil production.
