FIELD: separation of gas or steam from dropping liquid. SUBSTANCE: separator has a housing, a punched coaxial cylinder and ring-type partition placed in the space between the housing and the cylinder. There are grate-made separating pockets placed in the housing. A cylinder like grate is located in the space between the housing and the cylinder. Baffle plates are placed between separating pockets. Steam (or gas) containing drops of liquid passes all steps of separation changing its direction many times. The main principle of separation is based on inertia. The process is carried out at high speeds of steam. After separation, liquid is taken from the separation zone to the ring space by the part of steam flow which forms as a result of a stepped expansion of the main flow of steam.
