SUBSTANCE: polywedge piercer has longitudinal wedge-shaped members 1 mounted on cone in star-shaped pattern; cone has cylindrical portion 2 connected with its base. Required static margin of flight is ensured due to selection of rational elongation of cylindrical portion of piercer and bottom recess 3 which reduces base drag. Since longitudinal helical members 1 are made in form of helical cyclic surface, shock wave is broken into system of weak shock waves and wave component of piercer drag is reduced.
