FIELD: plasma treatment of materials. SUBSTANCE: electric-arc plasmatron has case accommodating nozzle, gas swirler made of insulating material, hollow blind cylindrical electrode, and current supply spiral embracing it in a spaced relation. On working section, spiral has variable coiling pitch raising towards open end of electrode. One end of spiral is electrically connected to this end of electrode; its other end is connected to current lead on blind end of electrode. EFFECT: improved service life of plasmatron. 1 dwg
