FIELD: investigation of thermal conditions of nuclear reactor cores. SUBSTANCE: method involves experimental determination of maxima coordinates of spacing wire and fuel element cladding material swelling. These coordinates are determined upon end of reactor lifetime. Location of swelling maxima by using known mathematical law is associated with temperature conditions of fuel elements. This provides for determining position of sections with true time-averaged experimental lifetime within core and cladding temperature. EFFECT: improved accuracy in determining temperature conditions of standard fuel elements. 1 dwg
