FIELD: mechanical engineering; automation of electron-beam welding process. SUBSTANCE: method of control over electron-beam welding process comes to regulating specific energy of heating in working zone by information about current flowing through workpiece. When amplitude of alternating current component through workpiece reaches preset value, workpiece is discretely shifted in direction of welding. Device to control electron-beam welding process provides connection of output of master oscillator to clock input of workpiece step-by-step motion drive using the switch introduced to its circuit. When depth of penetration reaches the value set by setting element, threshold circuit operates providing step-by-step movement of workpiece. Such design provides higher welding speed owing to automatic setting of maximum possible welding speed in process of seam forming. EFFECT: increased efficiency. 2 cl, 1 dwg
