FIELD: polymer production.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for preparation of phosphorus-containing copolymers, more specifically to methods of preparing copolymers of vinyl monomers with phosphorus-containing methacrylates. Invention provides a method of preparing phosphorus-containing copolymers via copolymerization of monomers selected from group consisted of styrene, α-methylstyrene, methacrylate, and methylmethacrylate with methacryloyl-ethylene glycol esters of hydroxy-, alkoxy-, or phenoxymethylphosphonic acid in aqueous suspension at 80-100°C in presence of polyvinyl alcohol as stabilizer.
EFFECT: simplified technology and improved performance characteristics of phosphorus-containing fire-resultant copolymers.
