METHOD FOR DIAGNOSIS OF BRAIN ARTERIOSPASM Russian patent published in 1994 - IPC

Abstract RU 2005414 C1

FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: in acute period of aneurism rupture the angiography is carried out and the obtained angiogram is used to localize the roentgenometrical points: point C in direct projection, point A in front projection, and point M of middle brain artery. Roentgenometrical points A, M, and C are determined at a distance of 5 mm from bifurcation of inner carotid artery. Roentgenometry of inner carotid artery is carried out in side projection in the following points: C1 - more distally from opening of posterior communicating artery; C2 - more proximally to opening of posterior communicating artery; C3 - more distally from cavernous portion of inner carotid artery; C5 - more proximally to cavernous portion of inner carotid artery; C6 - at the level of the first cervical vertebra. The produced data are inserted into the formula K=(C+A+M+C1+C2+C3)/(C5+C6) for determining diagnosing coefficient K. If K is less than 1.98, a spasm of brain arteries is diagnosed. EFFECT: higher accuracy of diagnosis in acute period of spontaneous subarachnoid hemorrhages.
